Late last month Team Eater had the ambitious goal of documenting an entire night at Kachka, the hippest, happening restaurant in Portland. We had a video team, an editorial team, and I shot stills throughout the night. Kachka, if you don't know, is a tiny space serving incredible Russian food. Soviet-era food to be exact. Loud Russian music blasts overhead, shots of vodka is seemingly everywhere all the time, and the space is constantly bustling with diners and staff. Below are a few of my favorites including a series of portraits that I shot in the backroom, aka your Russian grandmother's living room. At least, that's what I like to call it.
